The objective of this investment is to prolong an existing scheme, Bredbåndspuljen, which shall roll out very high-speed internet access (minimum 100 Mbps) in rural areas of Denmark where existing coverage is poor due to lack of sufficient market incentives.

The objective of the programme is to boost the digitalisation of small enterprises (10 to 49 employees), micro-enterprises (1 to 9 employees) and the self-employed, in any sector of economic activity, raising their level of digital maturity.

66,080 buildings were granted support for broadband expansion.

More than 60 km of Swedish railways were upgraded and 6 switches were replaced on the on the Gävle-Åänge route.

The Danish government established an expert group called “digitalisation partnership”, consisting of the main stakeholders of the industry (including business representatives and experts).

This measure funds five research & development consortia in the areas of infectious diseases, cancer, neuroscience, cardiovascular diseases related to diabetes and obesity, and research on the socio-economic impact of diseases.

The Recovery and Resilience Facility supported the purchase of 74,000 digital devices (mainly laptops) for distance learning.

The measures address the challenge of high and non-renewable energy consumption in households by funding renovations improving the energy efficiency of buildings and increasing the role of renewables.
